Types of Chiropractic Techniques
From 1985 up until today Chiropractors or chiropractic adjustments have helped us manipulate our body especially the spine it gives us a huge help to ease the pain and bring back an excellent joint function.
In chiropractor literature, there are about 150 techniques, but chiropractic practitioners use one or more methods depending on the patient’s needs. Here are the three of the most commonly used chiropractic techniques.
1. Gonstead technique
The Gonstead technique is a hands-on technique that the patients lie on his or her side so the chiropractor can adjust the pelvis or low back. It commonly used to reduce pain, realign joints and stiffness it also increase the patient’s mobility.
2. Activator technique
Activator technique uses an instrument which is a handheld adjusting tool that gives an impulse to vertebral segments of the extremities or the spine. The force when used feels like a light pounding sensation.
3. Flexion distraction
Decompression manipulation or Cox Technic or often called Flexion distraction is used from almost half of chiropractic clinics. It is often chosen when the problem of the patient is facet joint pain, scoliosis, disc herniation, and other conditions
